not like perfect faces and tall frames
you’re beautiful like the rain
like a stranger holding an umbrella over your head
you’re beautiful like when the sail catches the wind
like when someone lets you in line in front of them
you’re beautiful like the most peaceful sigh
like an airport goodbye
you’re beautiful
not like hollywood and sparkling eyes
you’re beautiful like the drop of sun that fell from the sky
like the flower that bloomed into a miracle
you’re beautiful like when someone holds the door open for you
like when you’re not judged when you’ve misspoken
you’re beautiful like a painting by bob ross

This week has been a great balance of work, reading, writing, relaxing, and quality time with family and friends. ☺️
I’ve spent most of July reflecting on my life and my own negative biases towards myself. I think it’s time to let go of long held beliefs that I’m somehow unworthy, on the verge of failure, and a tortured poet.
My happy poet era is long overdue 🌼

📚 Off The Bookshelf 📚
I just read Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and oh my gosh, I really needed this book at this moment in time. I’m so glad I grabbed it off the shelf at the library. I finished the book within 24 hours of borrowing it. 🫠
The book itself is like a memoir-self-help-story-magical-creative-process book, if that makes sense. Elizabeth Gilbert is such a phenomenal writer, it feels like she’s talking directly to you through the pages.
I’d recommend Big Magic to literally anyone, but especially creatives. If you’re an artist, poet, singer, writer, painter, dancer, etc. There are so many lessons and quotes worthy of writing down on sticky notes to keep on your wall or in your creative space.
