About

Hi, my name is Taya (she/her)! I was born on July 6, 2005 in British Columbia, Canada. I play football (the European kind), read books and write! I’m passionate about human rights, equal opportunity and the environment. I love music and I have my own podcast – Infinite Thoughts which is available on several platforms.

After twelve long years of hard work, I graduated from École Salish Secondary with my Double Dogwood Diploma (French Immersion) in 2022 and my DELF Certificate. You might be asking yourself, How did she graduate in 2022 if she was only 16 years old at the time? Well, I finished my secondary schooling in four years instead of five. This is thanks to the support of my teachers, school counsellor, and good friends. After attending summer school online during covid, and taking another class remotely, I took my requirements in grade eleven and graduated with all the credits I needed! Shockingly enough, this wasn’t planned or decided until a few weeks before my final semester.

One of the most exciting and memorable moments of my life was in 2022 when I signed my first semi-professional football contract with Altitude FC in League1BC.

I’ve captained a total of three seasons, on two separate youth teams. A coach has said to me, “You would run through a brick wall if they asked you to,” and it’s true. I’m a team player through and through. Those seasons had their struggles but I enjoyed every moment of leading my team. Through thick and thin, I’m right there alongside my teammates. And I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Currently, I’m a student at Douglas College studying Psychology. I’ve also taken a handful of writing classes. Writing has always been a huge passion of mine and the main reason why I decided to start this blog. I’ve always wanted to turn my experiences, thoughts, and ideas into a story for others to read and connect with.

I’d love for my readers to spend as long as they’d like exploring my blog. I post regularly about life, football, poetry and especially books! Be sure to check out my podcast when you have a chance. Oh, and I write and share my own creative fiction as well. Don’t be shy to leave a comment on a post that resonates with you and follow me on any of my socials!
