When you’ve been inside a box for a long time, you become accustomed to its confines. The moment it bursts and the walls extend, it can feel unfamiliar. I am waking to something I have never experienced before. I feel drawbacks. I feel uncomfortable and nervous. I fear the unknown. I have never had this much space to explore. And although it’s exhilarating, the sounds of the wild enticing, it also brings every predator I have encountered and those I have not. I am going to be kind with myself as I walk this new path. There is no rush to grow because it’s inevitable. The moment the cocoon opens, it can’t be unopened. The moment I discover my wings, I can’t forget. There is fear with that, but also the potential of something more. I’m prepared for the journey ahead, even if I don’t know it yet.
